This institution has been established under the auspices of the well known largest non-government educational body, The DAV College Managing Committee. The committee is the executing body of the DAV College Trust and Management Society, which was founded in 1885 to commemorate the ideas and principles of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The DAV College Managing Committee conducts the day to day affairs of the DAV Trust and Management Society and controls the administration and finance of the institutions run by it.

It, being the nerve centre, formulates policies, plans and procedures to shape the destiny of the DAV network. The main aim of establishing the DAV College Trust and Management Society was to setup temples of learning i.e. schools and colleges to give a practical shape to the ideals of Swami Dayanands educational philosophy which aims to develop a modern scientific approach among the students, coupled with an understanding of their roots in the ancient Vedic Culture.
